They aren't just for people with money and can be done without an attorney.
Staples has all the documents to write a will, but there are also state government websites that have a lot of info.
Wills can be very specific and can stop money going to discriminatory family members and can even include burial instructions--like trans people wanting to be buried in gender affirming clothes. Without a will, money/assets will be split among family.

Soco Women’s Chorus- SoCo Women’s Chorus is an auditioned community treble chorus based in Austin, Texas. Led by Artistic Director Lisa Sunset Holt, our nonprofit chorus is made up of approximately 90 talented singers from diverse backgrounds and musical abilities. They welcome singers of all gender identities with voices in the treble range - soprano and alto.
