1. They aren't just for people with money and can be done without an attorney. 

2. Staples has all the documents to write a will, but there are also state government websites that have a lot of info.

5. Wills can be very specific and can stop money going to discriminatory family members and can even include burial instructions--like trans people wanting to be buried in gender affirming clothes. Without a will, money/assets will be split among family.

• LifeStance Health - San Marcos, Austin, and Round Rock branches are queer-managed and can assist with finding a gender-affirming therapist or psychiatric provider. Insurance accepted. Financial assistance offered to those without insurance or with high deductible. Can match with a provider who offers gender-affirming psychotherapy before hormone therapy/surgery.

• Lavender Space- The practice specializes in providing informed and relevant best practices for the LGBTQIA+ community. Located in San Marcos.

AITSCM- The American Indians in Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions (AIT-SCM) is a nonprofit organization that works for the preservation and protection of the culture and traditions of the Native American tribes and other indigenous people who resided in the Spanish colonial missions.

Austin Prime Timers- a social organization that provides mature gay, bisexual, and trans men with opportunities to come together in a safe and supportive atmosphere to develop friendships and to enjoy and participate in social, educational, cultural, recreational, and community activities and events.

Soco Women’s Chorus- SoCo Women’s Chorus is an auditioned community treble chorus based in Austin, Texas. Led by Artistic Director Lisa Sunset Holt, our nonprofit chorus is made up of approximately 90 talented singers from diverse backgrounds and musical abilities. They welcome singers of all gender identities with voices in the treble range - soprano and alto.
